MPGA Teacher of the Year Award
“Ingram scores record accomplishment”
Derek Ingram has recently been awarded the Manitoba Professional Golfers Associations Teacher of the Year Award for a record fifth time. Derek was presented with the prestigious award at the Manitoba PGA Merchandise Show in October. Ingram, also a winner of the 2003 Canadian PGA Teacher of the year award, was both appreciative and excited about winning the award, which is voted on by golf professionals across Manitoba. “With so many excellent coaches and golf instructors across the province, they could just as easily have won this award. I feel extremely honored and privileged”, said Ingram. During the award ceremony, Derek discussed the importance of teaching in his life, and how fortunate he felt with the opportunity to teach/coach golf for a living. During his acceptance speech, Derek also congratulated the other nominees for the award including Darren McMillan of the St. Vital Driving Range and Brent Hardy of the Tuxedo Golf Course.
