Team Manitoba Wins Titleist Cup at Pine Ridge
Just finished the 2009 Titliest Cup Matches - a yearly Ryder Cup match play tournament between Manitoba and Saskatchewan's top PGA Professionals. This year it was a Pine Ridge in Winnipeg and again a lot of fun to see some old friends and meet several new ones. It also didn't hurt to win the Cup again.
Pine Ridge was an excellent venue - great shape - perfect fairways and fast sloped greens. The food and organization was very well done.
Personally - Dave McMillan and I tied our first match, Peter Ewert and I lost our second match on the 18th hole and I won my singles match 5 and 4. It was great to play 3 times in two days as this year - I have not had the opportunity to play very much golf. There was some excellent matches and action - but can't stress the importance of friendship, sportsmanship, camaraderie, and integrity - all of which were very prevalent this week.
